Cuba Restaurants The following are some of the best restaurants of Havana. The typical dish of traditional Creole cuisine is meat, usually pork (cerdo), accompanied by rice (arroz) and black beans (frioles). In Havana you can taste a wide selection of both meat and fish dishes. Typical fish dishes are lobster (langosta), prawns (camarones) and sea bream (pargo). In Havana the prices are probably higher than you would expect, but still cheaper than in Europe and North America.
Calle Concordia n. 418 between Gervasio and Escobar (Centro Havana) El Aljibe Avenida 7 between Calle 24 and Calle 26 (Miramar) Excellent restaurant whose specialty is his famous chicken in orange sauce accompanied by a typical side dish of rice, black beans and chips. Paseo del Prado 563, between Teniente Rey and Dragones (Centro Avana) Spanish restaurant located opposite the Capitolio Nacional, it offers excellent food at a good value for money.
Avenida del Puerto n. 12, at the corner with Calle Narciso Lopez (Old Havana) Located across the harbour this is probably the best fish restaurant in Havana. La Mina Calle Obispo n.109, at the corner with Calle Oficios in Plaza de Armas (Old Havana) Strategically located in the heart of Habana Vieja in Plaza de Armas, La Mina restaurant offers fish and traditional Creole cuisine dishes in a pleasant environment with little bands playing salsa, son and boleros. Taberna La Muralla Calle San Ignacio at the corner with Calle Muralla, in Plaza Vieja (Old Havana) This restaurant located in the lovely Plaza Vieja is also a microbrewery. His specialties are prawn skewers. Avenida de Belgica n. 603 at the corner with Calle Acosta (Centro Avana) Excellent seafood restaurant whose specialties include lobster and prawns. |
